Zamoras

Five clean sheets this week, with Molina and Cañizares opening up a gap on the rest at the top of the table. Three times Zamora winner Cañi will be up against the "galacticos" of Real Madrid next weekend, which should be quite a duel, although the absence of Pellegrino and Ayala could be telling.

Real Sociedad's Westerveld has also got off to a good start and must be in the running for the awards this season. So too must be Manchester United's Ricardo who is on loan at Racing Santander and who saved his side a 0-0 draw this weekend at Betis, where Contreras has displaced Prats as number one.

There were three goalkeeping changes in the lineups this weekend, with Miki taking over from the suspended Leo Franco at Mallorca, Valbuena coming in to the Zaragoza side for Lainez (who had gastroenteritis), and ex Depor keeper Juanmi getting a run out at Murcia in place of Sánchez Broto after he let in three goals the week before.
