Although there were an
average number of goals in the last weekend of the footballing year, they were
fairly spread out, and only two keepers came away with clean sheets.
Cañizares was of course one of them, and he moves clear at the top of
the table as we close for the short winter break. Elsewhere Lainez returned to
bring back some order to Zaragoza's defence after Valbuena's mistake the week
before, and he too kept his goals against column to zero. Talking of mistakes,
both Rüstü (Barcelona) and Juanmi (Murcia) were in the news this
week, and they both gave away silly goals which cost their sides points. The
transfer market opens on the 2nd January, and there could be a couple of new
faces, in particular at Murcia where neither Juanmi nor Sánchez Broto
have impressed. Barcelona keeper Bonano, currently out of the first team squad,
could be the new man there. Atlético and Espanyol are also thinking of
signing new keepers, with the former in particular considering getting on-loan
Aragoneses back from Getafe as cover for Burgos, who was injured again and
didn't play this weekend. (22.12.03) |
