A three way tie at the top
of the Zamora table on the return to work after the two week lay-off, with
Molina catching up with Cañizares and Sanzol after recording one of the
weekend's nine clean sheets. There were two scoreless draws in the games
between Lainez's Zaragoza and Juanma's Atlético, and also between
Bizzarri's Valladolid and Contreras's Betis, and Casillas (Real Madrid),
Ricardo (Racing), Esteban (Sevilla) and Lemmens (Espanyol) all kept their goals
against column to zero in their sides' respective victories. Lemmens in
particular is worthy of a mention as only two weeks ago he was told by Luis
Fernández to start looking for another club as he didn't want him, but
the manager has had to back down as the club said they did not want to take on
another keeper only six months after they signed the Belgian number one.
Elsewhere Bonano made his debut for Real Murcia only a few days after moving
from Barcelona. Barça manager Frank Rijkaard must be wondering if he let
the wrong man go though as another poor performance by Rüstü left his
side 18 points adrift of the leaders. (05.01.04) |
