If Cañizares and
Molina were neck-and-neck last weekend, this week they are toenail to toenail
as the Depor keeper's clean sheet takes him level in all aspects. Cañi
thought he had edged it though right up until the last second when Figo's
controversial penalty (see white stick section) scuppered his plans. It was a
remarkably high scoring weekend, with Racing's Ricardo letting in six and
Espanyol's Lemmens five, ruining their chances of making the chart this week.
Other than Molina's there were only three clean sheets, Leo Franco's Mallorca
and Almunia's Albacete playing out a 0-0 draw and Cavallero's Celta winning 0-2
at Valladolid, a sign that Radi Antic is starting to make his mark. (16.02.04)
