Another relatively quiet
weekend for keepers, with only 25 goals in the ten matches. Three clubs head
the league table after day two, Leo Franco's Atlético, Víctor
Valdés's Barcelona and Casillas's Real Madrid, and all have managed to
keep their goals against column blank for the first 180 minutes. There were
four more clean sheets this weekend as well, with score-less draws in the
matches between Villarreal (Reina) and Real Sociedad (Riesgo), and
Málaga (Catalayud) and Zaragoza (Luis García). Espanyol keeper
Kameni comes in to our chart this weekend after recovering from his knock last
week to take part in his side's victory at Betis. Judging from his unorthodox
and at times spectacular style (and the goal he let through his hands), he will
be fun to watch this season. (13.09.04) |
