Espanyol's Kameni was one of
eight keepers to come away with a clean sheet this weekend, and he moves clear
at the top of our chart this week. The rest of the table appears to be upside
down though, three times winner Cañizares having let in at least one
goal in every game this season, whereas the usually leaky Real Madrid and
Barcelona defences ranked amongst the best in town, with Iker Casillas and
Víctor Valdés in joint second place. Reina is level with them
both though, and he is on his way to a new record having not had a goal scored
against him at the Madrigal stadium in fifteen games, including league, UEFA
and Intertoto cups.
Kameni, Casillas and Reina
all recorded their third clean sheets in a row, and they were joined this week
by Aouate (Racing), Mora (Levante), Sánchez Broto (Getafe), Doblas
(Betis) and also Gaspercic (Albacete), who stepped in for the injured Valbuena.
Albacete signed ex Atlético keeper Pindado as back up, although he
wasn't able to sit on the bench this weekend as his transfer papers haven't
come through yet from his last club Antwerp. There was one other change of
keeper as well, Westerveld coming in to Héctor Cúper's first line
up at Mallorca in place of Moyà, who picked up an injury in training
midweek. (08.11.04) |
