A bad weekend for
goalkeepers, with a record 36 goals in the ten games. Last week's leader Kameni
got hit for four at Deportivo, and Osasuna's Elía and Numancia's
Nuñez both let in the same. Even so there were five clean sheets, with
Barcelona's Víctor Valdés returning to the top of the chart after
his side beat Racing 3-0. Doblas and Esteban both improved their positions as
they kept their goals against columns to zero, and Sánchez Broto kept
out new signing Sergio Aragoneses again with another fine display for Getafe.
Elsewhere Málaga's Arnau kept his second clean sheet in a row since
returning to the side, and there was a scare for Valencia keeper
Cañizares, who limped off in the second half against Villarreal with a
damaged toe, doctors later confirming that it was just badly bruised.
