Having gone 417 minutes
without letting in a goal, Víctor Valdés has now conceded seven
in under two and a half hours. The four scored by Real Madrid following on from
the three by Betis has put his Zamora title in jeopardy just a couple of weeks
after he appeared to have it all tied up, and although Leo Franco let in his
first goal in five games at Numancia, the Argentine keeper is only one point
behind. Casillas is also back in the running after his great display against
Barcelona, and even Reina is in with a shout. There were five clean sheets this
weekend in all, including the man who Leo Franco replaced at Atlético,
Juanma, who got his revenge against his old club playing for the Soria based
side. Aranzubia helped Athletic Bilbao to a 3-0 win over neighbours Real
Sociedad, and Luis García's Zaragoza sank Mallorca with a 0-2 victory.
Meanwhile Elía's Osasuna and Sánchez Broto's Getafe both moved
closer to safety after 1-0 wins against Racing and Albacete respectively.
