A high scoring weekend, with
only four keepers managing clean sheets. Víctor Valdés was one of
them though, and he opens up a small gap at the top over the two Madrid men Leo
Franco and Casillas, both of whom let in one. The other Madrid based goalie
Sánchez Broto went one better though, helping Getafe to virtually ensure
their continuity in the top flight with a 1-0 win over Levante.
The other two clean sheets
came from keepers who were drafted in for this round of matches, Sanzol
stepping in to the shoes of Elía to produce an identical result to the
midweek cup game against Atlético (same play, different actors), and
Palop finally edging out the off-form Cañizares to take over the gloves
at Valencia and assist in their 2-0 win over Albacete. Real Sociedad's Alberto
also made his second league start of the season, replacing Riesgo who was being
rested after he was carried off with concussion the week before. (25.04.05)
