Barcelona rested
Víctor Valdés this weekend to ensure he wins the Zamora prize,
Jorquera getting a first run out of the season in his place. Samuel Eto'o was
probably not too happy about the decision as it turned out though, as the young
keeper let in three goals from the striker's closest rival for the Pichichi
prize, Diego Forlán! A bit of a strange weekend this one, with no less
than nine clean sheets despite the 24 goals scored, including scoreless draws
between Casillas's Real Madrid and Leo Franco's Atlético, Notario's
Sevilla and Aragoneses's Getafe, and Mora's Levante and Palop's Valencia. Palop
was let off a one match ban to play, and after Racing's Aouate was rested to
give Toño a first game, Mora is one of only three keepers with a 100%
appearance record, together with Reina and Leo Franco (before you ask, Kameni
missed a few minutes of one match through injury). Clean sheets as well for
Arnau (Málaga), Moyà (Mallorca) and Juanma (Numancia), all of
whom were on the winning side this Sunday. And finally Betis keeper Toni Prats
was given a game with Doblas sitting out a one match ban. (23.05.05)
