Iker Casillas did so for the second week in a row (something quite unusual in recent times!), and his city rival Leo Franco also improved his standing as Atlético won 0-2 at Málaga, their first away victory in eight months. Betis and Osasuna continue to rotate their squads after playing in Europe midweek, and Contreras and Elía were given another run out at the weekend. Elía in particular made a case for a more regular spot in the side with a good performance as his side won 0-1 at Deportivo, although with his team now out of the UEFA cup (and the keeper himself banned for two games in that competition) there will be less opportunities from now on.
