Keeping a tight defence is
always an important feature of a championship winning team, and it it is worth
noting that the two leaders this week have recorded three clean sheets in a
row. Luxemburgo appears to have found the formula at last to protect Casillas
in the Real Madrid goal, and Javier Aguirre's rotation system at Osasuna is
also bearing fruit, with Ricardo and Elía also sharing goalkeeping
duties between them. Meanwhile last season's Zamora, Víctor
Valdés, drops out of our chart this week as some slack defending by
Barcelona allowed Deportivo back into the game. Generally though it was a low
scoring weekend, with Casillas and Ricardo just two of eight "porteros" to keep
clean sheets. The other six were Doblas (Betis), Armando (Cádiz), Prats
(Mallorca), Aouate (Racing), Riesgo (Real Sociedad) and Palop (Sevilla).
