Zamoras

Palop remains at the top of our chart as we go in to the winter break, but Víctor Valdés is ominously closing in, his clean sheet against Celta his eighth of the season. All in all seven keepers kept their goals against column to zero in the midweek round of games, including Doblas (Betis) and Viera (Villarreal), who both saved penalties to do so. Viera's opposite number Arnau also kept a clean sheet as Málaga and Villarreal drew 0-0, and Calatayud (Getafe), Cañizares (Valencia) and Riesgo (Real Sociedad) joined them. Riesgo's was the most celebrated though after the under 21 international had let in 20 goals in the last seven games. Three goalkeeping changes this week, with Gorka Iraizoz taking over from the injured Kameni at Espanyol, Esteban replacing the suspended Pinto at Celta and Roberto Jiménez making his first team debut at Atlético. The under 20 international is currently playing for the club's third team "Atlético Aviación" in the regional third division, but injuries to Leo Franco, Cuéllar and Galán, and the suspension of Falcón, meant that Bianchi had to call up Roberto and his team mate Basilio for the game at Osasuna.
