Zamoras

Real Madrid's return to form came at the wrong time for Palop. The ex Valencia keeper was heading our table up to this week, when the Galacticos hit four past him, including a hat-trick from Zidane. He drops down to third, with two ex Zamora's sharing first place, last years winner Víctor Valdés, and four time champion Santiago Cañizares, who put in a magnificent performance as Valencia beat Osasuna 0-2. Cañizares has recorded four clean sheets in a row, and he was joined this week by five other keepers from sides languishing in the bottom half of the table, including Costanzo (Alavés), Doblas (Betis), Armando (Cádiz), Aouate (Racing), and Gorka Iraizoz (Espanyol), who took over in goal this week as Kameni has gone off to play for Cameroon in the Africa cup. There were two other changes this weekend as well, Lafuente replacing the off form Aranzubia at Athletic Bilbao and Moyà coming in at Mallorca for Prats, who was unavailable. (16.01.06)
