The goals finally came this
weekend, the 32 being the highest tally since week 20. Cañizares moves
back to the top of the table, letting in one less than his rival Pinto, and the
Valencia keeper is in line for a record fifth Zamora trophy. Meanwhile last
season's Zamora winner Víctor Valdés was rested to give a run out
to his colleague Jorquera, who was one of three keepers to record a clean sheet
this weekend together with Palop and César. Valdés had played
every minute in the league up to then, and his absence leaves Molina and Aouate
as the only two keepers with a 100% appearance record this season. Elsewhere
there was a nice touch by Mallorca manager Gregorio Manzano, who replaced Prats
with Moyà five minutes from the end of the match so that the ex Betis
player could receive an ovation from his old fans in the Ruiz de Lopera
stadium. (08.05.06) |
