What a difference a week
makes! Seven days ago Pato Abbondanzieri was sitting pretty at the top of the
table, but after letting in two against Mallorca, and with his two Madrid based
rivals Casillas and Leo Franco both keeping clean sheets, the gap is down to
just one goal. It was a low scoring weekend though, with another seven keepers
also maintain in their goals against column to zero as well as the two
mentioned above. The list included Aranzubia (Athletic), Aouate (Deportivo),
Kameni (Espanyol), Moyà (Mallorca), Toño (Racing), César
(Zaragoza) and Cobeño (Sevilla), who kept his place due to Palop's
injury and who has yet to let in a goal in two and a half games. Elsewhere
Butelle stepped in to Valencia's side as Cañizares was rested for the
Champions League game against Chelsea, and Celta's Esteban made his first
appearance in the league this season in place of the suspended Pinto. He chose
the wrong game to do so though, letting in four against an impressive
Recreativo. (09.04.07) |
