Pato Abbandonzieri is back
on top of the pile after an extraordinary weekend. Kicking off on Sunday, the
Getafe keeper already knew that Víctor Valdés and Leo Franco had
let in two and three respectively. And Bernd Schuster gave him a helping hand,
taking him off midway through the second half before Nàstic got the
winner against his replacement Luis García. With the Argentinian keeper
called up to represent his country in the Copa de América, Pato will not
play the last match at Celta either, virtually ensuring him this season's
Zamora title.
Although there were 36 goals
scored in all, there were in fact six clean sheets (seven if you count Pato),
with scoreless draws between Palop's Sevilla and Moyà's Mallorca, and
also between Riesgo's Real Sociedad and Calatayud's Racing. Pato's opposite
number in Nàstic, Rubén Pérez, also kept his goals against
column to zero, as did Osasuna's Elía, who was given a run out in place
of Ricardo. Elsewhere Valencia's Butelle made an unscheduled appearance ten
minutes in to the local derby at Levante after Cañizares got himself
sent off. (11.06.07) |
