A bad start for last season's Zamora prize winner, Pato Abbandonzieri being hit for four by high flying Sevilla. Otherwise though it was a relatively low scoring first weekend, with no less than eight keepers managing clean sheets. That included three who had swapped clubs this summer to get away from their understudy roles, Cobeño (Almería, formerly Sevilla), Gorka Iraizoz (Athletic, formerly Espanyol) and Butelle (Valladolid, formerly Valencia).
