Real Madrid and Barcelona
have been criticised in the past for shaky defences, but their two keepers are
sitting on top of the pile this weekend. Casillas and Valdés were
amongst seven who kept clean sheets on day seven, and they were joined by
Toño (Racing), Aouate (Deportivo), Ricardo (Betis), César
(Zaragoza) and Carini (Murcia), who had to make his La Liga debut with a broken
toe after Notario pulled out with an injury. Elsewhere Abbondanzieri returned
to the Getafe side after a lay-off, Alberto replaced the suspended Butelle at
Valladolid, and Osasuna's Puñal was our first makeshift keeper this
season after Ricardo was sent off near the end with all three changes made.
