Zamoras

We seem to have put our collective feet in it again after lauding Real Madrid and Barcelona for their good defending in our last report! Both suffered their first defeats of the season, with Casillas letting in two and Valdés three at Espanyol and Villarreal respectively. Casillas still tops our chart though, ahead of Leo Franco, who came back in place of Abbiati after a two match lay off through injury. His was one of five clean sheets in an otherwise high scoring weekend, with Cobeño (Almería), Abbondanzieri (Getafe), Moyà (Mallorca) and Palop (Sevilla) also keeping their goals against column to zero. Butelle (Valladolid), Notario (Murcia) and Cañizares (Valencia) all returned to their respective sides after suspension or injury, and Elía stepped in for the suspended Ricardo at Osasuna. He only lasted 50 minutes or so though before getting himself sent off as well, and B team keeper Andrés became the fourth man to defend the sticks for the Pamplona based side in two games (Puñal remember had to take over a fortnight ago when Ricardo was red carded).
