An extraordinary round of
midweek games, with 13 of the 26 goals coming from two ties. Leo Franco's
Atlético Madrid and Palop's Sevilla let in seven between them in a
thrilling match which ended 4-3, and Valencia's Hildebrand got hit for five by
Real Madrid. Bernd Schuster's side are top scorers in the league with 25 from
ten games, and Iker Casillas tops the Zamora chart with only seven goals
against.
The other eight matches
produced eight clean sheets, with scoreless draws between Sorrentino's
Recreativo and Toño's Racing on Wednesday, and between Kameni's Espanyol
and Notario's Murcia the following day. There were clean sheets too for
Abbondanzieri (Getafe), Viera (Villarreal), César (Zaragoza), and for
Ricardo (Osasuna), who won the battle against his namesake at Betis. Elsewhere
Mallorca's Lux made his league debut on Wednesday, coming on to replace
Moyà who was sent off at Deportivo shortly before half time. (02.11.07)
