Our leader Toño had a
bit of a setback after Deportivo stuck three past him in the first half, and he
is now only two ahead of Valdés. The Barcelona keeper was one of eight
to record clean sheets this weekend, although the 0-0 draw against
Abbondanzieri's Getafe didn't exactly please the local fans. Elsewhere Armando
(Athletic), Casto (Betis), Carini (Murcia), Sorrentino (Recreativo), Palop
(Sevilla) and Sergio Asenjo (Valladolid) all kept their goals against columns
to zero in their sides' respective victories.
Almería's on form
keeper Diego Alves had something of a stinker though, letting in six against
Atlético. He started the game wearing new gloves, but after four slipped
through his hands before the break he went back to his old ones at half time!
One other change on the goalkeeping side to comment on, Levante giving a debut
to young B team keeper Manolo Reina in place of Kujovic in the match against
Valladolid. Already planning for the return to the second division? (07.04.08)
