Zamoras

So Casillas finally gets his dream to take the Zamora trophy! Schuster giving him a hand (as if he needed it) resting him and giving a run out to Dudek in the match at Zaragoza. The last game of the season against Levante may not take place due to a more than probable strike by the players of the Valencia based side, who have not been paid in several months, but even if it does go ahead Iker's nearest rival Víctor Valdés is four goals away. The Barcelona keeper was also left out of the line up, Pinto coming in to replace him, but that was for other reasons, with rumours that he could be transfer-listed this summer after some indifferent performances.

Casillas may not have been in such a comfortable position though if Diego López had played more matches, the Villarreal keeper recording his fifth clean sheet in a row against Espanyol. Although it was an average weekend for goals, another seven keepers also managed to maintain their goals against column free of contamination, including Leo Franco (Atlético), Armando (Athletic), Toño (Racing), Sergio Asenjo (Valladolid), Abbondanzieri (Getafe), Sorrentino (Recreativo) and Palop (Sevilla). Elsewhere Diego Alves (Almería) and Kameni (Espanyol) returned to their respective sides after a one match rest. (12.05.08)
