Zamoras

Complete the sequence: 2, 4, 6, 7....? Poor old Sporting keeper Sergio Sánchez is setting new negative records for La Liga after letting in 19 goals in his first four matches! New signing Iván Cuéllar must be grateful that he was injured at the start of the season, otherwise he might have been if the firing line! He may well be though next weekend when the Asturians host Villarreal.

Sporting's 7-1 defeat at Real Madrid aside, the other nine midweek games produced 20 goals, Last week's leaders Casto and Kameni give way to Renan, Diego López and Aranzubia, Valencia and Villarreal topping the league table after both won again, and Deportivo drawing 0-0 at Ricardo's Osasuna. As well as the above four, there were clean sheets for Moyà (Mallorca), Palop (Sevilla) and Sergio Asenjo (Valladolid), all of whom were on the winning side. Despite the proximity of games, only one team changed their keeper, Aguirre sticking to his rotation policy at Atlético Madrid bringing in Leo Franco for Coupet. (26.09.08)
