Sir Alex Ferguson picked the
wrong time to day his scouts to watch Sergio Asenjo! The young Valladolid
keeper was on the wrong end of a 6-0 drubbing by Barcelona, with Eto'o sticking
four past him by half time!
Asenjo's opposite number
Valdés was one of seven to keep a clean sheet in an otherwise high
scoring weekend, and he stays at the top of our chart together with Palop, who
also kept his goals against column to zero. Aranzubia and Renan did likewise
though and they are only one behind the leaders, and Toño also improved
his position in our rankings as Racing beat Sporting 1-0.
The other two clean sheets
came in a goal-less draw between Osasuna and Atlético Madrid, Roberto
keeping his place in the local goal to the detriment of Ricardo, and Coupet
substituting Leo Franco, who was on paternity leave. And one other goalkeeping
change this weekend, Lux making his first start of the season for Mallorca in
place of the injured Moyà for the match against Athletic Bilbao.
