A quieter week to start the year for our keepers, with only 23 goals scored in the ten games. Most of our leaders let in one, but there were four clean sheets from Diego Alves (Almería), Goitia (Málaga), Toño (Racing) and Casillas (Real Madrid). With the transfer window opening a few days ago two or three clubs are looking for replacements for players who picked up serious injuries between the sticks (we are talking about goal-posts of course!). Mallorca have already signed on Deportivo's Aouate to replace Moyà, and Sporting have a couple of options to substitute for Cuéllar. Valladolid will probably not dabble in the market though, as Villar and the veteran Alberto are considered to be sufficient cover for Asenjo. (05.01.09)
