Three clean sheets this weekend, including Casillas's fourth in five games against Deportivo, Toño's third in four games at Sevilla, and Riesgo's second in a row against Betis.

With Aranzubia suspended and Fabricio unavailable, Munúa was between the sticks for Depor for the first time since his punch-up with team mate Aouate last season. Palop returned for Sevilla after his one match ban, and Guaita replaced the injured Renan at Valencia (although César has now joined from Spurs and will presumably take over from now on).

On the transfer front, Pato Abbondanzieri has left Getafe to return to Argentina, and Lafuente has moved from Athletic to Sporting. He chose the wrong day to make his debut though, letting in five at Getafe after replacing Sergio Sánchez in the starting line up. (26.01.09)
