Spare a thought for our poor
old goalkeepers this week! A record 37 goals were scored in all, with for
example Diego López crashing out of our chart after letting in six at
the Bernabeu. In all of that Víctor Valdés consolidated his top
spot after Barcelona beat Racing 4-0, Valdés's closest rivals all
letting in goals. In fact only one other keeper managed a clean sheet, Diego
Alves, who's Almería side beat Atlético Madrid 1-0. Sergio Asenjo
returned in goal for the visitors as De Gea was still unfit after his midweek
injury in the Europa League, and he he was relieved to have a good game after
his disastrous performance against Galatasaray. (22.02.10) |
