Zamoras

It looks like a two horse race for the Zamora this season between Valdés and Casillas, and it could all boil down to the grudge match between Real Madrid and Barcelona later this season. Valdés is still four ahead of his rival though, and there were some complaints from the Barcelona press that Spain's top Zamora has been left out of Del Bosque's squad once again for the upcoming friendly against France. It looks pretty certain now that Spain's three keepers for the World Cup with be Casillas, Reina and Diego López.

Another relatively high scoring weekend once again, with only four clean sheets in all, Palop and Iraizoz in the scoreless draw between Sevilla and Athletic Bilbao, and Diego Alves (Almería) and Roberto (Zaragoza) in their sides' respective 0-2 away wins over Racing Santander and Getafe. Roberto was making his debut for his new club in place of the out of favour Carrizo. Toño's return for Racing in that match was short-lived as he had to be substituted by Coltorti in the second half due to a recurrence of his injury, and in the Monday night match between Atlético and Valencia, De Gea came back in for his under 21 team-mate Asenjo after recovering from an injury which had kept him out for a couple of weeks.
