Zamoras

Another clean sheet for Víctor Valdés as Barcelona beat Deportivo to stay three points clear at the top of the table. Last season Guardiola rested his keeper for the last couple of games to ensure he took the Zamora trophy, but with Real Madrid breathing down their necks that is unlikely to happen this year. Valdés has a big enough lead though not to worry about that. Only three other clean sheets in the midweek round of games, Codina (Getafe), Aragoneses (Tenerife) and César (Valencia), all helping their respective sides to achieve their objectives. Elsewhere Valladolid's new coach Javier Clemente gave the nod to Jacobo to take over from the injured Villar, and Cristiano Alvarez played most of the second half for Espanyol after Kameni was sent off at Racing.
