Zamoras

Palop chose the right moment to injure himself, the veteran keeper conveniently missing out on Saturday evening's humiliating 5-0 defeat against Barcelona. Javi Varas was his unfortunate replacement. It was another high scoring weekend though, with 32 goals in all. Víctor Váldes's clean sheet takes him to within one point of our leader Iker Casillas, and there were clean sheets as well for Iraizoz (Athletic) and Aranzubia (Deportivo). As well as Varas there was one other goalkeeping change, Arnau returng at Málaga in place of Galatto, who in turn had replaced Rubén. It remains to be seen who new coach Pellegrini favours next weekend. (02.11.10)
