Iker Casillas started his
99th match in a row at Espanyol already planning the party for the ton, but
just 90 seconds after the kick off his record came to an end when he was sent
off for a foul outside of the area on Callejón. A harsh decision, but
one which allowed youth international keeper Adán to make his league
debut, something which many before him have failed to do! Between the two of
them they kept a clean sheet, a feat also achieved by another four keepers on
what was a low scoring weekend, Aranzubia (Deportivo), Munúa (Levante),
Aouate (Mallorca) and Bravo (Real Sociedad). Elsewhere Málaga moved
quickly to replace the injured Sergio Asenjo, signing on Elche's Willy
Caballero. However the Argentina born keeper arrived too late to make it to the
starting line up, and Arnau was the man chosen to defend the sticks in the
match against Getafe. (16.02.11) |
