A few goalkeeping changes
for the midweek round of games, at least for sides who have little or nothing
left to play for. Mourinho gave a run out to his third keeper Adán
against Getafe, and even let his B team keeper, Spanish under 21 international
Tomás Mejiás, have the last seven minutes or so. Valencia brought
back veteran César for Guaita in their goal, Hércules gave a
second start to Velthuisen in place of Calatayud, and Zaragoza were forced to
bring on Leo Franco after Doblas picked up an injury midway through the second
half at Real Sociedad. All of that meant that there are only five ever-presents
this season, De Gea, Ricardo, Toño, Claudio Bravo and Diego
López, and that will be down to four at the weekend as Toño will
be suspended after picking up his fifth booking. Only four clean sheets in all,
for Diego López and Esteban in the goal-less draw between Almería
and Villarreal, for Willy Caballero at Málaga (his sixth in nine games),
and for the two Madrid boys. Only two more games to go! (13.05.11)
