Víctor Valdés was not on league duty this weekend, but he saw his position at the top of the Zamora chart strengthened after his two closest rivals Javi Varas and Casillas both let in goals in a 2-6 thriller between Sevilla and Real Madrid. Varas in particular slips down the table - he was on the wrong end of the six! The 31 goals scored in week 17 (including Barça's four against Rayo last month) is in fact the highest of the season to date, but there was still room for clean sheets from Casto (Betis), Toño (Racing), Bravo (Real Sociedad) and Diego Alves (Valencia). There will now be a short break for the festive season before the league begins again in January. (19.12.11)
