Touch and go in the end in the race for the Zamora prize, with Víctor Valdés leaving the door open for Casillas after letting in two on Saturday against Betis. The Barça keeper was not expected to play in order to avoid such a thing from happening, but an albeit minor injury to Pinto meant he had to put on the jersey for one more time this season. Casillas let one in though against Mallorca on Sunday, meaning Valdés equals the mythical Ramallets after taking the Zamora trophy for the fifth time. It was a tense last weekend of the season though, with clean sheets for Cobeño (Rayo Vallecano) and Roberto (Zaragoza) helping the two clubs to save themselves in the end. Roberto was in fact the only keeper to play every minute of every game after Levante's Munúa had to sit out a one match ban. However Munúa's replacement Keylor Navas also kept his goals against column to zero to ensure a place in the Europa League for his side for the first time in their history. Atlético Madrid return to the competition as well after a 0-1 win against Villarreal, and Courtois is expected to stay on at the Vicente Calderón stadium after Atleti extended his loan from Chelsea for another season. Elsewhere Bravo (Real Sociedad) also recorded a clean sheet against Valencia, for whom Diego Alves returned in goal, and Mallorca gave a ten minute run out to Calatayud, the ex Málaga and Hércules keeper replacing Aouate near the end of the match in the Bernabeu stadium.
