Our leaders Víctor Valdés and Courtois both kept clean sheets this weekend to widen the gap even further over their nearest rivals, and it already looks like this season's Zamora prize will be fought out between the two of them. Curiously Courtois is being touted as one of the leading candidates to replaced Valdés (if and?) when he leaves next summer, together with Borussia Mönchengladbach's ter Stegen. Six other teams kept their goals against columns to zero though in what was a low scoring round of games, including Real Sociedad (Bravo), Almería (Esteban), Celta (Yoel), Granada (Roberto), Villarreal (Sergio Asenjo) and Valencia, for whom Diego Alves started but had to be replaced by Guaita in only the twelfth minute of the match. Elsewhere Iraizoz returned to the Athletic Bilbao side in place of Herrerín after a short injury lay-off. (05.11.13)
