Courtois was the big winner of the weekend on the “Zamora” front as Víctor Valdés and Diego López were taken out in a major way in a high scoring “clásico”, and the Atlético keeper moves five goals clear at the top of the chart after his team won 0-2 at Betis. Half of the 28 goals this weekend were scored in the last two matches, but before that there were clean sheets as well for Caballero (Málaga), Roberto (Granada), Casilla (Espanyol), Keylor Navas (Levante) and Iraizoz (Athletic). Elsewhere Jaime got his first start of the season as Valladolid coach Juan Ignacio Martínez gave him a run out instead of Diego Mariño, and both keepers who had featured in their teams’ midweek Europa League wins had to be substituted during their respective matches on Sunday, Sevilla’s Beto being replaced by Javi Varas at half time after suffering from a fit of vomiting at the break, and Valencia’s Diego Alves limping off with a hamstring injury which is likely to keep him out for up to five weeks, Guaita substituting him midway through the first half.
