Ho hum, another clean sheet for Courtois, and the Atlético keeper has only let in one goal in the last eight league games (for the record, scored by Athletic’s Muniain)! As we write he also prevented his actual club Chelsea from scoring in the Champions League semi-final, although paradoxically the injury to his opposite number Cech could mean that he could be recalled to Stamford Bridge in the summer instead of the two year loan extension at Atleti which we understand is almost done and dusted! We have to wait and see, but what is clear is that he is going to win the “Zamora” title for a second year in a row.

Only four more clean sheets this weekend, Beto (Sevilla) and Caballero (Málaga) on the winning side for their respective teams, and Levante and Getafe drawing 0-0, with Keylor Navas defending the goal once again for the locals, and the recently signed Julio César (ex Benfica and Granada) taking over from Codina for the first time for the visitors. No game though for Jaime (Valladolid) or Diego López (Real Madrid), their match postponed to allow Madrid time to prepare for the Champions League tie against Bayern Munich, albeit that it will be Casillas who will be between the sticks tomorrow, as he was in Wednesday night’s Spanish cup win against Barcelona.
