A fifth clean sheet in a row for Claudio Bravo, although for the first time this season Barcelona dropped points after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Kameni’s Málaga. If the weekend games were high-scoring, the mid-week matches returned to normal, with another five keepers not letting in goals as well, Moyà (Atlético), Beto (Sevilla), Jesús (Levante), Kiko Casilla (Espanyol) and Diego Alves (Valencia). Beto returned from injury to take over from youngster Sergio Rico, and two changes as well in the Tuesday night match between Real Madrid and Elche, Ancelotti giving a first run out to Keylor Navas in place of Iker Casillas, and Escribá replacing the much criticised Tyton with Manu Herrera (albeit that he didn’t do Manu any favours as Madrid hit him for five!). Elsewhere Rayo Vallecano’s Cristian Alvarez picked up a knock during the match against Athletic Bilbao, new signing Toño coming on to substitute him at the break. It remains to be seen though whether any further changes happen this weekend as teams prepare to play their third league fixtures in seven or eight days. (26.09.14)
