No less than 37 goals this weekend, but even so Barcelona’s Claudio Bravo held on at Rayo to set a new record of seven games unbeaten since the start of the season, topping the previous best of 6 games and 20 minutes set in 1977 by another Barcelona keeper Artola! Up until the last two games on Sunday he was the only one to keep a clean sheet in week 7, although he was later joined by Espanyol’s Kiko Casilla and Real Madrid’s Iker Casillas as their sides won 2-0 and 5-0 against Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao respectively! Only one goalkeeping change this week, Levante drafting in Diego Mariño in place of Jesús for the match at Eibar. With both teams having a reputation for defensive tactics, not a lot of goals were expected, but surprisingly the game ended 3-3, the highest overall tally of the round! (06.10.14)
