Valencia’s Diego Alves set a new club record by half time in Monday night’s game against Granada, the Brazilian keeper passing Balaguer’s 40 year old record of 549 minutes without letting in a goal at home. Even so though he is only second in our chart behind Barcelona’s Claudio Bravo, who was one of eight other minders to keep their goals against columns to zero this weekend, together with Iraizoz (Athletic), Oblak (Atlético), Diego Mariño (Levante), Rulli (Real Sociedad), Sergio Asenjo (Villarreal), Rubén (Almería) and Sergio Rico (Sevilla). Rico was back in the Sevilla goal in place of Beto, who made a disastrous comeback in the midweek Europa League game at Zenit after a long injury lay-off, gifting two goals to the Russian forwards. Luckily Gameiro was on hand to put things right after that! (28.04.15)
