Claudio Bravo kept his 21st clean sheet of the season against Córdoba this Saturday, beating the previous club record jointly held by Zubizarreta and Víctor Valdés. You have to feel sorry for the guy at the other end though, Juan Carlos, who got stuffed for eight! Elsewhere there were only three other clean sheets, Rulli (Real Sociedad) on Friday night, and Oblak (Atlético) and Herrerín (Athletic) in a 0-0 draw on Saturday. Herrerín was making his first league appearance of the season, Valverde giving him a run out in place of Iraizoz to get match practice prior to the cup final at the end of this month. One forced change this weekend, Elche’s Manu Herrera coming on for the last twenty minutes against Málaga after Tyton was sent off for giving away a penalty. And elsewhere Casillas came back in for Real Madrid after being rested midweek, and Villarreal’s Juan Carlos replaced Sergio Asenjo who, as we reported a few days ago, picked up a serious injury in the midweek game against Atlético.
