Eight clean sheets in the opening weekend of the season, for Kepa (Athletic), Ter Stegen (Barcelona), Dmitrovic (Eibar), Guaita (Getafe), Cuéllar (Leganés), Raúl Fernández (Levante), Keylor Navas (Real Madrid) and Neto (Valencia). Dmitrovic (ex Alcorcón) and Neto were making their La Liga debuts, Guaita and Raúl Fernández were returning to the top flight after spells in the second division, and Cuéllar has switched from Sporting. Chichizola (Las Palmas) also played his first match in Spain, and Sevilla’s David Soria was given a run out by Berizzo, although he injured himself within five minutes, and had to be replaced by Sergio Rico. Oblak, the winner of our Zamora award for the last two seasons, starts out of our chart however after letting in two in a 2-2 draw against new boys Girona. The Catalans’ keeper this weekend was Gorka Iraizoz, who needs no introduction on these pages! (23.08.17)
