Spain's under 20 side are already through to the knockout stage after winning their second group match today. Julen Lopetegui's team had the better of the first half, with Koke bringing a good save out of Jaramillo early on and Tello shooting just wide shortly before half time. Rodri and Isco both tested the keeper again after the restart, but Ecuador had their chances as well, Fernando Pacheco doing well to keep out De Jesús on the hour mark. The turning point came just afterwards though when Ona was sent off for a second bookable offence, and almost immediately Tello battled through to set up substitute Canales for the opener. A few minutes later Alvaro Vázquez missed the easiest chance of the night, but with five minutes to go the Espanyol striker made up for his mistake, picking up a pass from Canales and holding off his marker before shooting under the legs of Jaramillo. Job done, and Lopetegui can now rest some of his key men against Australia before the next round begins.
