Friendly Fixtures

Although clubs have a busy calendar once the league and other competitions commence, there will be several friendly matches whenever time allows. We set out below details of those games which have come to our attention. Please bear in mind that all dates are provisional and are subject to change at short notice. Matches already played in red, games pending in blue, changes since our last update in bold. For last summer's pre-season games see separate section. (26.05.16)

Several friendly matches were played during and around the international break:

17 - 20 Dec Club World Cup
As reigning European champions, Barcelona took part in the latest edition of the Club World Cup in Japan, winning the competition for the third time. See separate section for details.

Regional match: Catalonia 0 - Euskadi 1
Regional matches normally take place during the festive break, with teams from the autonomous regions playing international fixtures. Recently though Euskadi and Catalonia were the only ones to organize games, playing each other last season. This year they met in the Nou Camp on Boxing Day, with Aduríz scoring the only goal before the break. The two women's teams also played in Barça's mini-stadium earlier in the evening, drawing 1-1.

Catalonia: Pau López; Aleix Vidal, Piqué, Bartra, Jordi Alba; Sergio Busquets, Verdú, Sergi Roberto; Piti, Sergio García, Víctor Rodríguez. 4-3-3.

Galicia v Venezuela
The regional Galician side played a friendly international against Venezuela on 20th May in Deportivo's Riazor stadium, their first outing in 8 years. The match ended 1-1.

Galicia: Sergio Álvarez; Jonny, Hugo Mallo, Álex Bergantiños, Angeliño; Pedro Mosquera, Fran Rico, Denís Suárez; Jota, Iago Aspas, Lucas Pérez. Also played: Diego Mariño, Diego Alende, Juan Domínguez, Pape Chiekh, Joselu.
Venezuela: Fariñez; Víctor García, Wilker Ángel, Chanciller, Villanueva; Jeffren Suárez, Carlos Suárez, Arles Flores, Rómulo Otero; Christian Santos, Josef Martínez.

La Liga World
The LFP are promoting several friendly fixtures after the season ends, with Eibar and Real Sociedad visiting the United States, and Espanyol playing two games in Bolivia. Games will be as follows:
