Euro 2008 - Fixtures

Final

Spain are European champions! A single goal from Fernando Torres against Germany with just over half an hour on the clock was enough to give "la selección" their first European title since 1964! (29.06.08)

Spain repeated their earlier three goal victory over Russia with a brilliant display, and will meet Germany in Sunday's final after Joachim Löw's side beat Turkey 3-2 in the last minute of their semi-final. (26.06.08)

Semi-final

Spain beat Italy in the penalty shoot out, and go on to meet Russia, who knocked out Holland in their quarter final. Guus Hiddinck's side have bounced back after losing their opening group game to Spain a couple of weeks ago, and will be a different prospect this time around. (22.06.08)

Quarter-final

Group D matches

Spain were grouped for the finals together with Sweden, who they had already met in the qualifying round. And the other two group D members are also old acquaintances, Russia and Greece both being in their mini-league in the last European Championships four years ago. If they win through though they will be up against tough opposition in the next round, facing one of the sides from group C, which comprises France, Italy, Holland and Romania. (02.12.07)
