Pichichis

Cup semi-finals midweek, with Messi and Llorente taking Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao through to a final meeting with their goals. The two clubs, who have the highest number of wins in the competition, will meet in Valencia in mid-May.

Yet another high scoring weekend, with 36 goals in all. Messi moves above his team-mate Eto'o to the top of our table after converting a penalty against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday. And Forlán is fourth after putting Atlético ahead against city rivals Real Madrid before Huntelaar equalised.

The following day Kanouté and Renato gave Sevilla another win, despite Negredo's eighth in six games, and Barral and Vicente were also on target for their respective sides. Renato joins the group on nine goals, as do Lafita (Deportivo), Baha (Málaga), Barkero (Numancia), Zigic (Racing) and Goitom (Valladolid). Another day for the record books! (09.03.09)
