Second division B play-offs, day 3

Terrassa took a big step towards returning to the second division A for the first time since 1979 with a 2-1 win over Hércules on Sunday. All the goals came in the first half, with the visitors taking the lead through Parrado and the home side making it all square with a Keko penalty. The lady referee left both sides with ten men early on, and Keko hit the winner before the break. Terrassa are top of group A, five points clear of Ceuta, who beat Barakaldo 1-0. Zárraga put through his own net in the last minute.

Both matches in group B were also played on Saturday, with leaders Barcelona B losing top spot after being held to a 0-0 draw by Mérida in Extremadura. Compostela go a point ahead of the Catalans after a 0-1 win at Valencia B. The only goal of the game came from Maikel in the second half, and Valencia's Rangel saved a penalty.

On Sunday lunchtime Getafe moved further towards going back up at the first attempt with a 1-0 victory over Cultural Leonesa. They move top of group C on seven points, three above Hospitalet who lost 1-0 to bottom club Motril, on Saturday night. The Andalucians took the lead on the stroke of half time when Nandi beat Manu following a corner.

UD Almería are top of group D with maximum points from their three games after beating Espanyol B 1-0. Moreno fired in a shot from outside of the area in the 89th minute to leave their opponents out of the promotion race. A late goal by Borja against Pontevedra saved a point for Real Madrid B and keeps them just in touch with Almería, who they must beat next week to have any chance of promotion. The home side took the lead through Capi just after the restart, but lost Toni to a red card later on. (09.06.02)
