Ato Boldon stadium, Couva, Trinidad & Tobag. Spain are out of the youth World Cup after losing to Argentina. Missing their injured captain Carlos García, Melli came back to play in defence and the impressive Diego León took his place in midfield alongside Iniesta. They started badly though when the referee from El Salvador awarded a controversial penalty for what appeared to be an accidental hand ball by Real Madrid's Jesús after Tevez turned the ball in Argentina's captain Colace stepped up to score from the spot in off the post.

By half time though Spain were in front, with two goals in five minutes from Guillermo Bauzá and Senel, the first an individual effort by the Mallorca youngster, and the second after a defence splitting pass by Diego León. However Argentina's Maxi López levelled the scores with a fantastic goal from outside of the area after the restart, and when Jesús got his marching orders for a second yellow card Spain's challenge ended. Zabaleta and Aguirre added two more for the South Americans to send Juan Santiesteban's youngsters home early.
