Referees (sum total of red and yellow cards). González Vázquez was the referee in the news this weekend after his performance in the big match between Atlético Madrid and Barcelona. Within minutes he ruled out a Heitinga goal for offside which clearly wasn't, and then he awarded a hotly disputed penalty to the locals after Sinama-Pongolle went down under Henry's challenge. It wasn't clear what he had given at first though as play went on for a minute or so before an insistent linesman waved him down.
